Sodium Bicarbonate 500 MG *50 tabs

Sodium bicarbonate is used for short-term treatment of gastric hyperacidity.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients;
• Severe renal failure;
• Respiratory alkalosis;
• Hypocalcaemia, due to increased risk of tetany;
• Hypochloraemia caused by diuretics (see section 4.5);
• Excessive chloride loss due to vomiting or continuous gastrointestinal suction, due to increased risk of metabolic alkalosis;
• Children under 12 years of age.
• Generally contraindicated in pregnancy.

Dosage and method of use:

Adults: the usual adult dose ranges from 500 mg to 5 g per day.

Adolescents (12-18 years): 1-2 tablets after meals and before bedtime.
