When the tear film breaks down...

Inadequate tear film production or changes in its composition mean the tear film does not form a complete protective layer, i.e. it breaks down. As a result, the cells of the eye surface are deprived of oxygen and nutrients, leading to damage that in turn causes burning and a foreign-body sensation. These symptoms are often accompanied by pain. In advanced stages, dry eyes can lead to damage of the cornea and conjunctiva.

Sodium hyaluronate ensures optimal lubrication

Endogenous sodium hyaluronate, naturally present in the body, is ideal as an intensive eye lubricant. Due to its chemical structure, sodium hyaluronate binds and retains water many times its own weight. It spreads evenly over the eye and forms an even coating that keeps the eyes moist.

Preservative-free and phosphate-free in the patented COMOD ® packaging

Preservatives designed to protect eye drops from contamination during storage and use can themselves be harmful to the natural state of the eye and damage eye cells. Moreover, they can cause intolerance reactions. Therefore, modern eye lubricants are preservative-free. Phosphates, widely present in eye drops, can also have a harmful effect on the cornea.
