These punches are designed for quick and accurate marking of points on the surface of a workpiece, such as wood, metal or plastic. They are most often used to mark a point before drilling. Center punching makes it easier to start drilling by reducing the unwanted effect of the drill bit sliding across the material surface, the so-called drill wandering. The mark is created by striking the sharp tip of the punch against the material. The traditional method of punching requires a hammer. The automatic punches shown here mark the material thanks to a strong internal spring that moves a hardened steel pin. They therefore eliminate the need to hold a heavy hammer. The striker does not require spring tensioning, which happens automatically. Immediately after pressing the needle into the material and striking, the action can be repeated, marking the next point. The striker has an adjustable impact force used for optimal adjustment to the hardness of the marked material.

Instructions for use:

Place the punch with its sharp end on the marked spot. Press firmly with your hand, and the needle strikes the point permanently into the material. Immediately after pressing the needle into the material and striking it, you can repeat the operation, marking another point.
