Father Goriot

The novel Father Goriot is considered one of the main pillars of the Human Comedy. Although this novel ends with Goriot's death, the comedy goes on. This powerful contrast is not found only in this work, but forms the essence of his creativity. The main theme of the novel is the fate of a person in the family and in the society in which they live. The author himself said that the idea of the "Human Comedy" came to him from a comparison between humanity and the animal world.
