Journey into the World of Albanian Painting

Writer Luan Rama, who is also the grandfather character in this book, accompanies his granddaughter Lola, as well as all young readers, into the studios of painters and the galleries and museums of the most famous Albanian artists of the past. This journey begins with paintings created in the 16th–18th centuries by the great master Onufri and his worthy successor Konstandin Shpataraku; it then continues with paintings by 20th-century painters such as Spiro Xega, author of the well-known painting "Skanderbeg", the outstanding painter and photographer Kolë Idromeno, creator of marvellous landscapes Vangjush Mio. Then appear the portraits that stay in the mind of the Androniqi sisters and Sofia Zengo, paintings with the deep folk spirit of Abdurrahim Buza, the portraits and landscapes of master Sadik Kaceli, and the book closes with the world-famous painter Ibrahim Kodra, where his last, unfinished painting is impressive.
