A thriller romance that grabs you from the first lines and keeps you gripped until the end. Two characters, Alen, a Dutch citizen, and Mia, an American, whom fate brings close to each other. Mia is the young lawyer whom Alen has chosen to help him legalise his investments and settle permanently in America. Alen is handsome, rich and full of charm. But he has secrets and a dark past, which Mia learns about at the very moment they fall in love with each other, a love of the grand kind.

Love ennobles a person, and Alen will do anything for the girl of his dreams, but can they leave the past behind? If so, will it let them go, or follow them like a shadow? Fate shuffles the cards, and each of us plays the game ourselves. Sometimes it puts us on the side of the law, and sometimes on the opposite side. Are there good and bad people, or do angel and devil live together in the same living person?

This book is as shocking as it is attractive, confronting us with prejudice or understanding. It feels like a psychological game that leaves you at a crossroads, unsure which path to take and which side to hold. But can love forgive, will it withstand the trials of fate? Filled with events, some of them heavy, and unpredictable twists, this book makes it impossible to put it down without finishing it…
