Stylistics of the Albanian Language and Pragmatics

Since 1977, the Albanian language and literature department of the Faculty of History and Philology has taught Albanian stylistics as a separate subject. A text was prepared for this under the title "Knowledge of Albanian Language Stylistics", published in 1987 by the University of Tirana and reprinted in 1988 in Pristina by RILINDJA. Earlier, a text for the journalism branch of the Faculty of Political Science and Law, titled "Language, Style and Editing in the Press", had been published in 1977, as this subject had been taught since 1971. In 1997–1998, a short course in pragmatics was added alongside stylistics. As the previous text had long been unavailable to students, a new edition was necessary. The book covering both linguistic disciplines, with changes compared to the 1987 edition, was published in 1999 under the title "Stylistics and Pragmatics".
