The senses are the doors and windows that connect us to the world. Little ones love to open them to make their first discoveries.
Through sight, they begin to distinguish colours. Every child has a favourite colour. Through smell, they learn how good perfume smells and how bad smells come from spoiled things. Thanks to hearing, they learn their first songs. Taste helps them tell apples from oranges. And through touch, they discover how pleasant a caress is and how tickling makes us laugh so much.
The senses develop quickly in young children: through their games and food, through recognising their parents' voices… The senses help them learn new things every day, feed their imagination, play and gain their first knowledge.
The senses reveal a world full of surprises, mostly pleasant, but sometimes they warn us: when milk has gone off or when there is a smell of gas.
Each page of this book shows a picture where we see the sense organs, which the child will name with the help of adults. They will learn what they are, what role they play, why they are useful and what happens if one of them is missing…
This book encourages curiosity and observation skills, while the child has fun playing with sounds and letters.
