Pollyanna

After the death of her parents, eleven-year-old Pollyanna goes to live in Vermont with her stern aunt Polly. However, the little girl refuses to submit to the gloomy situation and instead chooses to see the good side of things. Through the "glad game" her father taught her, Pollyanna finds reasons to be glad in any situation and overcomes every obstacle. The girl encourages others to join her glad game and change their dreary lives. Among the new players are Mrs. Snow, John Pendleton, Nancy and others. Everyone welcomes into their lives the cheerful girl who never tires, even though she must face and overcome her own challenges.

Although Pollyanna is classified as a children's novel, its purpose is to be read by people of all ages. The author presents an illuminating journey into the innocent world of childhood, whose positive energy can ease even the gloomiest circumstances. Pollyanna inspires many people never to give up on life and to see it in a positive way.
