Andersen's Fairy Tales

Andersen's Fairy Tales are a wonderful literary heritage for children and adults alike. His work draws on the timeless folk wisdom not only of his own country but also of the other countries he visited.

His tales reveal the wisdom and philosophy of his homeland and of the peoples he knew and visited. These tales are a precious treasure that should be valued and carefully preserved, because in most of them good triumphs over evil, and forces of good over forces of evil. They contain enchanting images of nature, figures of suffering people, and princes and princesses who have the same feelings as ordinary people.

However, a large part of his tales do not end happily, as fairy tales usually do, but have sad endings. These tales reflect everyday reality, while the author, with his rich imagination and great mastery, makes this reality even more powerful. Behind every Andersen tale stands a whole philosophy: love of life in general, and of the human being in particular.

After being translated into 153 languages of the world, Andersen's fairy tales finally come to Albanian readers in this volume.
