One Thousand and One Nights

The main thread of these tales is the story of King Shahriyar who, disappointed by his wife's betrayal, decides to marry a new girl every day and have her executed at dawn. The only one to break this cruel chain was Scheherazade. With her innate intelligence and the knowledge she possessed, she captivated the king with her stories for one thousand and one nights in a row, becoming a symbol of a woman who manages to tame the beast within blind male authority.

Also striking are the erotic fragments, delicately rendered in Albanian, preserving the spirit of an age when body, word and imagination were one.

This edition appears for the first time complete in Albanian from the original (four volumes). This first volume contains 168 tales.
