The Book of Memories and Forgetting

The protagonist, Golem, wants to write and publish a book of poetry to regain his former reputation as a poet. But now, besides patience and talent, he notices he also lacks the motivation to write. Beyond personal problems that torment him on the threshold of old age, he feels unable to create a state of normality with his family and the people around him. Also, his past with people and memories, his father's words and a strange relationship with the female world haunt him like ghosts and change the course of his life. Caught in a vicious circle between memories, desires and passions, problems of age and family, life and death, he tries to find a way out by reading and writing, forgetting, as a way to move forward.

Suad Arilla, with the novel "The Book of Memories and Forgetting", is the winner of the "Fund for Literary Creativity for Young People", organized by the National Book and Reading Center, with the motivation: "For a novel that conveys to the reader the inner struggle of each character, masterfully stylized, all their whys, efforts to understand themselves and others, through careful language, rich vocabulary and expressive imagery."
