Heights

They set off armed with guns and books from the city of Kotel, to join a group of revolutionary outlaws in the mountains. Their characters reflect a mix of bandit brutality and revolutionary idealization, while their adventures form a rich comic framework, enlivened by Gjiço's efforts to educate his comrade. Our two characters, surrounded in the mountains by the Turkish army, now face a dilemma that puts their personalities to the test. They make different choices, but both meet the same end. The novel boldly discards all patriotic clichés on this important subject of history, without underestimating the desperate heroism of the time.
