Jasemini in the Land of Liars

In a country where, by order of the sovereign, everything works in reverse and telling the truth is forbidden, Jasemini arrives with his powerful voice. With the help of friendly companions, he defeats arrogance and lets sincerity triumph. In this book (one of the first) Rodari demonstrates his extraordinary ability to examine social reality with a critical eye, and his skill in moving lightly and gracefully into a fantastic universe built on altruism, generosity and friendship. Jasemini, with his voice and likeable character, invites us to look at the future with confidence.
