Key to Albanian literature and language

Rita Petro graduated from the University of Tirana (1980-1984) in Albanian Language and Literature. In 1993 she specialised at the University of Athens in Philosophy and Greek Culture. From 1985 to 2000 she worked as an editor for literature at the Publishing House of School Textbooks and took part in many groups working on the modernisation of school curricula, as well as on drafting joint planograms with Kosovo (`95-`97). Since 2000 she has been publishing director at the ALBAS publishing house (with offices in Tirana, Tetovo, Prishtina, Preshevo). R. Petro is co-author of 34 school textbooks on Albanian language and literature for the 9-year and secondary school cycles (most of which are currently used in Albania, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Preshevo and the diaspora). As a poet, Rita Petro has published four poetry collections; many of her poems have been included in several anthologies of contemporary world poets.

Linda Mëniku is currently a lecturer in Albanian language at the Department of Linguistics, University of Tirana. She specialises in text linguistics and teaching Albanian to foreigners. She is the author of several books published outside Albania:

She is co-author of several language and literature textbooks for secondary schools.
