The Adventures of Cipollino

"The Adventures of Cipollino" is the masterpiece of Gianni Rodari. The main character, Cipollino, is known for his fearlessness, his desire for justice, and his taste for irony and mockery. The world created by Rodari consists of fruits and vegetables that personify charming characters, from their names (Cipollino, Tomato, Prince Lemon) to their personalities and behaviours. Social reality and fantasy blend together with a dose of humour and tenderness that grows with the reader, touching on current themes such as solidarity and friendship between "different" beings.
